The Village Voice reported this week that the wholesale farmer’s market in the Fulton Fish market was taken over by the Council on Environment for New York City. More importantly, this move has spread the word that the market is open to the general public, although only until 8:30 each morning and noon on Saturdays. Its incredible to think of those 14 farmers selling next to the commercialized market each morning… talk about David and Goliath. Now how do we get the fresh produce in the local stores in Hunts Point?
