If you have the opportunity to do something great once, why not do it again?

Due to the bad weather during the first parent/teacher night at MS 424, our principal, Dr. Hughes, decided to host an additional conference night on March 24th. Naturally, City Year and HPAC teamed up again to create another fruit fair.

The snowy backdrop from the last event gave way to a much nicer spring day. Loading the fruit and transporting it became a much easier task, and having experienced one fruit fair already, the MS 424 City Year Corps Members could foresee any snags in the system and create a much more seamless experience for parents, teachers, and staff.

More than 70 individuals came to enjoy the fruit giveaway. Parents were grateful for the pre-spring break updates from teachers as well as the amazing spread of fresh apples, oranges, bananas, pears and grapefruit.

The Corps Members were elated to have such a successful follow-up to the first fruit fair we held in February. Hopefully, the word will spread, and the Hunts Point community will continue partake in the resources that City Year and HPAC have to offer.
