Jennifer Gallagher, Principal, St. Ignatius School

JenniferGallagherJennifer Gallagher is the principal of St. Ignatius School, and an adjunct instructor at Hofstra University. She has spent more than 20 years in education, and holds a doctorate from St. John’s University. She has published research on staff development and training, and on family processes which support educational achievement among Latino students.

Jennifer’s interests have led to some diverse projects for her students. She has directed for the past 11 years a summer cultural exchange in El Salvador; this program provides students with an immersion in the rich culture of Latin America, as well as intensive study of Catholic Social Teaching.  In addition, Jennifer founded a partnership with Stony Brook University Medical School which allows middle school students to conduct advanced research with medical student mentors.
