Jennifer Harwood was born in Dublin, Ireland and raised in Sydney, Australia. She completed her Bachelors in Business and International Studies at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2002. Post College Jennifer worked at a non-profit called AIESEC whose mission is to break down cultural barriers through exchange programs. As the President of AIESEC in Australia, Jennifer lead a team of 12 individuals and over 400 student volunteers. In 2003 Jennifer moved to Egypt to work as President of AIESEC in Egypt and continue her work in international development. In 2004 Jennifer relocated to the United States to lead the Salaam Program for AIESEC in the United States which focused on breaking down barriers between Arab and American students in a post 9/11 world. Over the next 3 years Jennifer facilitated the exchange of over 100 students, secured an additional million dollars in funding from the US State Department and founded AIESEC chapters in Bahrain, Qatar and Oman. In 2006 Jennifer left AIESEC and joined City Year New York leading Middle and High School leadership programs in the South Bronx. Last year Jennifer became the Zone Director for all programs in the South Bronx. Since her tenor as Zone Director, Jennifer has completed a Leadership Development course with Columbia University’s Institute for Non-Profit Management
